I hopped on my bike, looked up at the sky, and knew I had to hustle if I wanted to make it home dry, though I had to make a pit stop to pick up some supplies. I walked to the register and noticed the opposing awnings start to flap about- by the time I had made it to the exit a torrential downpour was underway. I waited it out inside the store and watched the passerbys, unfazed by heaven’s deluge, yet acceptingly defeated. I looked down at my purchases and was glad paper towels was an item among them.
Like most summer storms, ten minutes later it had passed, but had left us with a sight that I always consider spectacular. What can I say, I dig rainbows.
